Having played bass in various bands in Austria through the early 70's Marburger in 1984 formed his own band called "Mishima" (after the Japanese poet) as an outlet for his own songwriting. The band went through various line ups, one of which (M.Marburger, Andi James, John Lee) recorded some songs at the London Bridge Studios. Together with some earlier four track recordings they are the only studio tapes, the rest of the recordings consists of a number of Live Tapes, recorded at the Samurai Studios and different venues in London. The later concerts developed into a multimedia show based on Marburger's songs and airbrush work. The shows were staged mainly in and around London. After the break up of Mishima, Marburger concentrated on various artistic projects with his long time friend and associate, the photographer and one time gallerist Christopher Smith.
